“THE world is experiencing a period of great upheaval. In the wake of an age of magic, progress marches on, leaving its mark on civilization. Great nations now fuse ancient magics with newly discovered science powered by coal and steam. The pace of change is accelerating, and the balance of nations is in flux.
“At the center of this maelstrom is Iron City, a point of neutral trade between four of the largest nations in the world. Located in the territory of the relatively primitive Ogwehoweh, Iron City forms a crossroads for the Emirate of Jhandihar, the Fellahin Nation of Khenti, and the Confederated Kingdoms of Liria.
“As the great nations jockey for power, some fear that war is inevitable. Others believe that we stand on the brink of a new Utopia wherein trade, science and magic will at last solve all of the world’s problems. And in the midst of speculation and worry, rumors spread of a dark power stirring beyond the bounds of the civilized territories.
“Iron City stands at the heart of conflict. The coming year will be the year when everything changes. In an age of steam and cinders, in a time of upheaval and strife, what role will you play in shaping the future? Will you bear witness to the birth of a new era, or to the end of history?”
